Job Description:
A company is looking for a Coder IV to manage coding for various
medical cases.
Key Responsibilities
Code all types of cases using ICD-10-CM, PCS, CPT, and HCPCS
guidelines
Assist with training and mentoring new coding staff and coordinate
coding meetings with the CDI team
Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and assist in the daily
operations of the HIM Coding area
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
Associate degree in Health Information Technology or equivalent
experience; Bachelor's degree preferred
Five years of acute care inpatient and/or outpatient hospital
coding experience
Ability to pass a coding exam before hiring
Certification as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CPC; dual credentials
preferred
Proficiency in coding various patient medical records and
understanding of coding reports
