Job Description BAE Systems is seeking a Facilities Project
Manager / Planner with a proven track record of driving a portfolio
of assigned projects to completion ahead of schedule and under
budget. A Facilities Project Manager / Planner is responsible for
the planning, design, and execution of capital infrastructure
projects supporting critical building operations and manufacturing
processes at our Ft. Wayne & Cedar Rapids facilities. Additionally,
this position will provide support to various remote locations
throughout the western United States as needed. The Facilities
Project Manager / Planner employ and coordinates with construction
contractors to carry out a variety of projects related to new
construction, renovations, specialty equipment installation, and
facility infrastructure improvements. The Project Manager / Planner
is ultimately responsible for the planning and management of
capital projects from initial customer requests and estimating to
punch-list and final close out. Because this role involves a
combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it
will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between
working onsite and remotely.Job Description
- Develop and manage the scope, budget, design and schedule of
multiple plant rearrangement and production equipment installation
projects, from inception to close-out. Responsibilities include
project planning, estimating and design, bidding work to general
contractors, building/executing and closing out the project.
- Design efforts include developing project requirements and
preparing engineering plans and specifications. Project managers
and planners collect customer requirements, formulate design
specifications, obtain stakeholder acceptance, and develop a
completely engineered design package for contractor bidding. Many
design aspects are completed in collaboration with other staff
engineers, contract consultants, drafting, and other internal
stakeholders.
- Evaluate, select, and coordinate activities of external
consultants, contractors, and in-house specialties to develop and
implement corporate facilities projects and program
requirements.
- Manage financial budgets and track costs as they are incurred
throughout the project lifecycle. Provide accurate and timely cost
and schedule tracking to all project stakeholders. Prepare spending
forecasts, establish budgets, approve invoices, and manage change
orders.
- On occasion, conduct major facility studies covering such
recurring subjects as five (5) year plans, total energy generation,
facility containment/contingency programs, building management
systems, major material and vendor studies, etc.
- Assure Company compliance with all federal, state and
applicable local codes such as Occupational Safety and Health
Administration (OSHA), National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA),
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and sustainability
efforts.
- Provide an interface with external suppliers and contractors in
order to assure acceptable, cost-effective and schedule minded
planning and construction programs.
- Oversee strategic planning and space assignments ensuring data
integrity within IWMS system (TRIRIGA) on all room data and
planning activities within project management Tool. Coordinate and
conducting field audits which may include walking spaces at various
BAE buildings, verifying measurements, room capacities, occupants,
vacancies amongst other verifications that may be requested.
- Support move planning coordination by creating move plans in
Excel and in AutoCAD.
- Support with decommissioning of spaces including IT Equipment,
Office Supplies, furniture and disposal of BAE documents. Support
with change management through design and communications.
- Interface with other facilities project managers and planners,
furniture coordinators, plant engineering, suppliers and internal
customers on cost, schedule, technical, risk management, and
contractual matters.Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in mechanical engineering,
electrical engineering, civil engineering, construction management,
or another related technical discipline.
- 6 years of project management and planning experience and or
related experience in facilities management / operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word,
Excel, Project, Power Point
- Working knowledge of building infrastructure and support
systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical distribution, and fire
protection systemsPreferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in mechanical engineering,
electrical engineering, civil engineering, construction management,
or another related technical discipline.

related experience in facilities management / operations. Pay
InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $91980 - $156330Please note:
This range is based on our market pay structures. However,
individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors
including, but not limited to: business considerations, local
market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate
