seeking a Test Equipment Engineer for our Controls and Avionics
Solutions (CAS) business location in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Being a
trusted provider of commercial aircraft solutions, the CAS business
develops, produces, and services advanced and robust electronic
controls for leading manufacturers of commercial aircraft flight
and propulsion systems. As a member of the BAE Systems team, you
will have the opportunity to work hands-on with complex electronic
controls, solving challenging problems that enhance our products'
performance and value for their end users.In this Test Equipment
Engineer role, the qualified candidate will design and support
in-circuit test equipment for electronics within the Fort Wayne
factory and other BAE Systems manufacturing sites. Responsibilities
include:
- Implementing automated test solutions on Acculogic Flying
Probe, Keysight 3070, and Genrad228x systems
- Design, integration, maintenance, and configuration management
of automated test hardware and software
- Developing statements of work for third-party ICT fixture and
software design to meet BAE Systems standards
- Coordinating test equipment build, modifications, and
maintenance with shop personnel
- Initiating continuous improvement of our electronic controls as
a response to test performance and yields
- Liaising with Design Engineering in Endicott, New York execute
test solutions for new productsPerformance accountability is
provided through Program Management, Engineering leadership, and
Operations to ensure test solutions meet the required coverage,
reliability, efficiency, usability, and maintainability needs of
the organization. Willing to train applicants with applicable
background.This role involves a combination of hands-on
product/test equipment engagement, collaborative teaming, and
independent work. Therefore, a hybrid work format is allowed for
flexibility with 3-4 days required to be on-site in the Fort Wayne,
IN manufacturing facility. Some light travel may be required
(Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and 4+ years
of relevant and professional experience
- In-circuit test development (flying probe and/or bed of
nails)
- Ability to analyze and debug electronic circuits (e.g. analog,
digital, power, and communication)
- Ability to use various laboratory instrumentation (e.g. power
supplies, multimeters, and oscilloscopes)
- Ability to demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving
techniques
- Ability to interpret and implement electronic test requirements
to demonstrate product performance
- Ability to read, edit, and integrate software
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and presentation
skills
- Ability to effectively multitask and manage prioritiesPreferred
Education, Experience, & Skills
- Experience with one or more of the following: Acculogic FLS980
flying probe, Keysight 3070/Genrad 228x ICT systems, Xmatic CAD
translation software
- Ability to program in various software environments (ex. Basic,
VB.net, Python, UNIX, etc.)
- Ability to automate instrumentation for production testing
and/or fault diagnosis
- Experience with test development/support role on third party
in-circuit or functional test platform
- Ability to propose, quote, and execute product test equipment
project plans
- Familiarity with DITMCO test systems
- Experience working in a high-paced manufacturing
environment
- Experience with statistical process control techniques and
analytical tools (e.g. Six Sigma, Capability Analysis)Pay
InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $63662 - $108225Please note:
This range is based on our market pay structures. However,
individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors
including, but not limited to: business considerations, local
market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate
qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience. Employee
